Common Core Math: Grade 4: Fractions
In fourth grade, students add and subtract fractions with like denominators and compare fractions with unlike denominators. Using visual models, students multiply fractions by whole numbers and generate equivalent fractions. Decimal notation is introduced, as students use decimals to express and compare fractions with denominators of 10 or 100. For both fractions and decimals, students use inequality symbols to record the results of their comparisons.
